Summer concerts in the park

Doylestown has wonderful summer concerts in the park on Wednesday nights. The girls LOVE it! We start out at kids castle and let them play for an hour or so and then head over to the lawn area. This particular group was very good. The kids did not stop dancing. Except to eat ice cream! What a fun night!

 Sweet treats!

Beautiful night, good music, sweet treats and good company! Looking forward to doing it again real soon!

Mommy's Time Out!

Well, I did it! It happened! I spent the night away from my girls and left them home alone with Ben!

Me and two of my girlfriends, Annmarie and Heather, drove out to Hershey on a Friday (early evening), and stayed overnight! We went out to dinner and then came back to the room and played games. The next day we drove over to Hershey Park's chocolate world and took the tour and had lunch. Then we went to the Hershey Hotel for a spa treatment.

Driving out we ran in to a pretty bad storm. I've never seen clouds like this, rolling in for a storm.
 Us playing games.
This was the perfect opportunity for me to open my Mommy's Time Out bottle of white wine!

The next day was beautiful!

Here we are at Hershey World! The sweetest place on earth!

This was walking up to the Hershey Hotel. Gorgeous!
 Amazingly beautiful.
 So ready for our massages!
Should we...or shouldn't we...go home?

Our view from the rocking chairs.

OK, on our way out. We're going home.

Annmarie and Heather, thank you! Thanks for throwing out the idea, for arranging, for driving and for an awesome time! Why haven't I done something like this sooner? Thanks to Sean (Annmarie's husband) and to Ben for allowing me the ability to go!
Love you guys!

Carolyn's Birthday Surprise

We celebrated Carolyn's birthday this year in a very special way. Jim surprised her, with US! No kids, just adults. We had a fabulous evening.

We all met up at The Mushooloo (which is a boat, in the water, that was turned in to a restaurant) for cocktails and dinner and then went to the Neil Diamond concert!

It was a beautiful night to be walking in the city.
Neil Diamond!

It sure does take a village to watch someone else's kids. My dear friend Annmarie offered to watch the girls. She has two of her own. Because of camps, dance lessons, her husbands schedule (life basically), she had to recruit her parents help to take her kids somewhere, which led to them dropping off her two nieces. Needless to say, my girls, her kids and her two nieces had a fun-filled evening with pizza, games, books and a sleepover!
 Sound asleep! Annmarie is good!
Happy Birthday Carolyn. Thank you Jim for having us join you on such a fun night. Thank you to Annmarie, your parents and Rachel & Anna for allowing the opportunity for me and Ben to have an overdue night out without the girls! Couldn't have done it without you all!

Summer Reading

Part of Alexis's Summer homework packet, was to READ, READ, READ! Luckily, we've started the Junie B Jones series and she loves it! In addition to the reading, her new teacher wants to see WHERE she is reading. We've been trying to find creative places which makes reading, that much more fun.

Here are a few pics that we sent to her new teacher.

It's a bonus when it's really nice outside!
 She reads to Ariana.
The girls enjoy story time at the Warminster Library.
It's fun going to her school's library on Wednesday's.
She even read to her reading specialist from Kindergarten! She was very impressed with how far she's come!

She was able to read to her older cousin Sereph, on the dock, at the lake house.
And even while sunning at the beach, at the lake.
We honestly are so proud with how well she is reading. I feel like it went from reading "word-wall" words to everything. Overnight!

Way to go Alexis! Keep it up!

Visit with The Wilson's - pg 3

Some pics from our outings.
We went to the AC Aquarium and the Boardwalk.
All the girls got glitter tattoos.

It was the best family vacation! Too bad it was the first week of our summer vacation.
Thank you Luke for sharing not only your beach house, but your week AND your birthday!
