Alexis's 6 year well-check

Alexis is all A-OK! Although I was a little surprised with the numbers, she's still growing each year. She is going to grow to be long and lean; just like her Daddy!

She weighed in at 37 lb 0.6oz. That puts her in the 7%tile.
She stands 3'8" and in the 26%tile.

The doctor was very happy with her progress at school, that she is active with soccer and gym class and that she likes her fruit and (most) vegetables. We do have to work on limiting the TV time to just two hours a day though.

She got her flu shot and was more frightened at the sight of a needed than the injection. I haven't heard her scream so loud and then suddenly stop and say "that didn't hurt"! Haha

Another year under her belt! Hopefully she stays healthy between now and next year!

Avery's first progress report of 2016

Avery is doing GREAT!

Her strengths -
Physical: "Avery has age appropriate fine motor skills. She uses a proper grip when she is writing."
Knowledge and Skills: "Avery enjoys sorting manipulatives by color and size. She shows an understanding of the four seasons and the different type of weather."
Social Emotional: "Avery has formed connections with students in our classroom. She also follows directions the first time and uses her manner words."
Communication: Avery loves to listen to stories and can sit for long periods of time. She is always asking questions after we are finished reading to help better her understanding."

Next developmental milestones -
Physical: "We are going to continue to challenge Avery with her fine motor skills. We will have her practice cutting out more intricate shapes, such as stars."
Knowledge and Skills: "Avery will begin using her five senses when making predictions about science experiments. She will explore materials through touch, smell and sight."
Social Emotional: "We are going to work with Avery on not getting upset if she loses at a game or something does not go as planned. We will learn about what sportsmanship means and how this helps us become better teammates."
Communication: "Avery will continue to work on letter recognition. She will also continue to practice being able to retell a story."

As I type this post today, I keep thinking about an email I got today. As of today, I am able to register Avery for Kindergarten. So hard to believe. My little girl...
